Use of non-autoclave manufacturing technology has been limited by processes which providedlower quality than autoclave cured approaches and materials which did not meet the properties orstructural life demanded. Non-Autoclave Manufacturing Technology is a program jointlyaccomplished by a Boeing-led team and the U.S. Government (DARPA) under the guidance ofthe Air Force to enable disruptive, pervasive use of vacuum-bag-only prepreg for primarystructures. The developments in this program demonstrate the feasibility of using the samematerials and processes for both development and production stages of a program, thusmitigating risks frequently realized in program life cycles at maturation to production. In late2010-early 2011, 21 m (68 ft) wing skin configurations were fabricated with CYCOM~?5320-1prepregs. This paper discusses features of the configurations and the quality of thedemonstration parts.
