The present invention relates to a method of filling and closing a plastic disposable syringe to be sterilized with a fluid. The disposable syringe has an injection cylinder 11 with a molded front nozzle part 20, a piston or piston plug 30 of at least one part, and a piston stop element 40 arranged in the region of the cylindrical cardboard 12. After the piston 30 is inserted into the empty injection cylinder 11 with its own piston rod or without the piston rod, the piston is fully pushed to the front end of the cylinder. The fluid medium is then supplied under pressure through the nozzle portion 20 to the injection cylinder 11 and presses the piston 30 toward the piston stop element 40 in the direction of the piston rod. After the syringe is filled, the front region 25 of the nozzle portion 20 is closed by plastic deformation. This method allows pre-filled disposable syringes to be sterilized in a standard autoclave without the risk that the pressure inside the syringe will plastic deform the parts of the syringe.
