The system is used for cleaning out and repairing an old gas connection pipe (3) leading from a pressurised gas main (1) in the street to the interior of a house. A balloon may be introduced into a T-junction inside the house at the end of the connecting gas pipe to seal it and may be pushed through it as far as the main to shut off the gas.
