An adjusting unit (E) varies the height of the implement (VG) above the ground. The additional adjusting equipment (E1) stores different desired values corresponding to the different working heights (H), and selects the desired value dependent on the working-position signal fed to it, and adjusts accordingly. A working parameter for a particular working height can be set manually during the harvesting operation and temporarily stored, and supplied as the desired value for automatic adjustment. The latter can be automatically cut out during manual operation.
