Sewage treatment system for farmsteads and/or hamlets, has primary (A) and secondary (B) three chamber treatment systems, where the sludge and nitrate-rich water is recirculated several times from the settling chamber (11) of the secondary system (B) to the first (2) second (3) or third (4) chamber of the primary system (A) where it mixes with raw sewage. In the third chamber (4), it is agitated and denitrified under anaerobic conditions. Also claimed is the plant for the above method.
