The structure is made of metal and comprises vertical columns joined together by horizontal members (1). Welding studs, rivets, screws etc. (3) protrude at regular intervals from a rectangular-section member (2). Moulded plastics inserts (4) are fitted over these and into the open ends of members of identical cross-section fit, securing all members, panels etc. in position. Cladding, glass, door and cupboard sections can be suspended from the studs etc. on one or both sides. Channel-sections (5,6) for fixing to a floor, wall or ceiling can also have studs at the same intervals.
