Layers or layer systems applying method on sinterable support, e.g. for overhanging membrane in gas-, pressure sensor

The method involves applying a layer onto a sinterable support. The layer can be of metal, ceramic or metal-ceramic material and is deposited onto a flexible support foil, by which it is transferred onto the layer support. Preferably the layer or layer assembly on the foil is pressed onto the support by a punch, at a pressure of 1-8 kN. Then the punch is lifted and the support foil is withdrawn. Typically the pressing is carried out at a heating temperature of 60-100 deg. C. The punch may have an embossing structure to coact with the support structure.
