Guide bush on piston rod experiencing longitudinal and transverse forces

The bush, made of low friction sliding material, surrounds the piston rod and is held against axial motion by the piston rod guide. In the new design, the bush (6) has radial play within the piston rod guide (4). Transverse forces thus vary the clearance (11) between the bush and its housing. The bush forms a snap-in fastening, within the guide. The bush is held axially by its two outward radial projections (19, 20), against the stop faces (7, 8) of the guide (4). Preferably the guide bush is made of a polytetrafluoroethylene-coated substrate, e.g. steel, other metallic sheet or plastic.
