Adjustable track-rod for automotive steering gear

The rod (3) is coupled to the rack (2) or other actuating component in the steering gear, and contains a universal joint (3b). To give the desired track, the rod screws up to a set depth (t) inside the rack, in which position it is secured by a locknut (4). The inner joint half can be partly hollow, screwing inside the rack, and the joint, together with screwed portion and nut, can be enclosed in a folding bellows with sealing sleeves.
