The valve hood (1), to shroud the camshafts in a combustion motor, is of metal or plastics with an elastic plastics sealing (3). One or more mountings (4) secure the hood (1) to the motor case (2), together with plate springs (5) for tension to be transferred to the hood (1). At the working point, the plate springs (5) have a horizontal characteristic in the force/spring path characteristics. The plate springs (5) fit in a set (6) in the valve hood (1). The hood material is a thermoplastic material such as polyamide with glass fibre reinforcement, or of aluminium, magnesium, steel or titanium. The sealing (3) is of silicon with a low Shore hardness.
