The valve cover (1) has an edge accommodating a seal of elastomer material. An edge (7) on the cover sidewall protruding into the recess accommodates a seal (3). The protruding portion of the sidewall can be a sheet metal component fixed to the cover, while its edge can be bent over in the axial direction, forming a flange (8) for the seal. The additional sheet (6) has a casing which is made of an elastomer material.
