The cover consists of an upper and a lower section (4). The sections are positioned in front of and behind a wheel (2), and/or an axle, at a small distance, ie. less than 20 cm relative to the ground, and at right-angles to the direction of travel. Each section is flexibly suspended on the top narrow side and the side away from wheel or axle. Suspension is via a five-link mechanism (6), consisting of elastic material. This releases in a defined way during collisions.
