A measuring device for underground probing, comprising means suitable for transmitting and receiving electromagnetic waves. These means terminate in electrodes (5, 6) which form the free end of the measuring device (1). A soil sample (8) can be received in the measuring device (1) between the electrodes (5, 6). The measuring device (1) can be forced directly into the ground (2) and the electrodes (5, 6) are movable relative to each other in axial direction respectively for receiving a soil sample (8) between the electrodes (5, 6) and ejecting it.
