The method involves assembling together, side by side several voussoirs (10a,10b) in a cylindrical path to obtain a ring of voussoirs. Each voussoir has an inner surface (17) located towards the voussoir axis which constitutes a continuous inner surface in the ring. The fixing of two adjacent voussoirs is obtained by coach bolts (12). The first voussoir (10a) is screwed in a socket insert (14a) in the adjacent voussoir. The second voussoir (10b) fixed to the first is supported by the bolt head (12a) on a tightening span (13a) in the first voussoir. This span is constituted by a wall zone with a housing (13) which opens into the inner wall of the first voussoir. The voussoir housing is sized to allow introduction of the coach bolt into the passage (15,14). This ensures access to the socket. The voussoir housing is filled in to re-establish continuity of the inner wall surface. To re-establish the continuity of the wall inner surface the housing is filled in with a mask (19).
