The invention relates to the use of pyrrolic derivatives of 1,4-naphthoquinone and 1,4-dihydroxynaphthalene, as direct dyes in compositions intended for dyeing keratin materials and in particular cosmetic compositions intended for dyeing human keratin materials, and more particularly cosmetic compositions intended for dyeing human keratin fibers such as the hair. The invention also relates to new pyrrolic derivatives of 1,4-naphthoquinone and 1,4-dihydroxynaphthalene and the dyeing compositions containing them as well as the corresponding direct dyeing process.
