AUTOMATICALLY SETTING METHOD FOR COLLIMATOR OF X-RAY IMAGING SYSTEM IN IMAGE COLLECTION AND X-RAY IMAGING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform enough quick and highly reliable automatic collimation practionally in an image collection by automatically forming setting of a collimator according to the position of an area of a detected body part, and automatically adjusting the collimator to substantially cover a non-body part by such setting. ;SOLUTION: An X-ray apparatus 10 has a computerized imaging device 12, and the imaging device 12 has an X-ray source 14 and a collimator 16. An automatic collimation device 38 is connected to a collimator 16 of the X-ray apparatus 10. The automatic collimation device 38 executes a method for segmenting an X-ray image of a delete part into a body part and a non-body part. By using the information obtained by the method, a suitable collimator set value is formed to the collimator in an image collection. By this setting, the collimator 16 is adjusted to over the area of the non-body part as much as possible in consideration of limitation on the hardware of the collimator 16.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
