PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new protein isolated from goat epididymal plasma, comprising an advancing protein having specific molecular weight, having fertility promoting/suppressing action, useful for treating human infertility, breeding of domestic animal, etc. SOLUTION: This new forward motility protein is isolated from goat epididymal plasma, has 125 KDA molecular weight, useful as a fertility promoting/suppressing factor and is used for treating human infertility and solving problems with respect to breeding of domestic animal, etc., by improving a sperm by the improved advancing motility. The protein is obtained by collecting a goat epididymal tail part, separating plasma from the epididymal tail part, fractionating the plasma with ammonium sulfate, collecting a precipitate at 30-70% saturation of the salt, subjecting the plasma to an anion exchange resin by using a low ion alkali buffer, eluting an adsorbed substance and further purifying the eluted fraction by concanavalin affinity chromatography.
