PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a teletext monitoring system that monitors whether or not a device for producing a teletext material signal is normally in operation. ;SOLUTION: This system is provided with a teletext material production device 12 that produces a teletext material that is superimposed on a prescribed line in a video signal sent from a transmitter 11 and with a teletext monitoring device 13 that receives a video signal sent from the transmitter 11 to monitor the teletext material signal. Then the teletext material production device 12 superimposes specific packet data denoting it that the teletext is conducted normally on the teletext material signal in the normal operation for each prescribed period, the teletext monitoring device 13 extracts the teletext material signal from the video signal sent from the transmitter 11 to discriminate the presence of the special packet data and stores prescribed teletext monitoring information including the discrimination result.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
