PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preventing thermal degradation of bisphenol. ;SOLUTION: This method for preventing thermal degradation of bisphenol comprises adding 0.05-2 wt.% lactide to the bisphenol. The method for adding the lactide to the bisphenol can be carried out by utilizing a normally well- known mixing method such as a method for adding the lactide to the bisphenol at the finishing time of the reaction step, before or after a removing step of the unreacted phenol, at the time of a bisphenol distillation step, or at the time of a distillation purification step in a hatch type process, and a method for successively adding the lactide to the bisphenol at the outlet of the reaction step, a phenol-removing step, a bisphenol-distilling step, the distillation purification step or the like in a continuous production process.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
