PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make real-time correction of sensitivity dispersion between infrared detecting elements regarding an infrared detector real-time sensitivity correcting method and an infrared image pickup device. ;SOLUTION: This correcting method for infrared detector real-time sensitivity comprises an infrared detector 3 taking in infrared rays from a target through optical systems 1, 2; reference heat sources 10, 11; a sensitivity correcting circuit 6a comprising a DSP 21, a RAM 23, and the like; a monitor 8; and a sensitivity correction sequence controller 13. High temperature data and ordinary temperature data of average value of detected output signals obtained by leading infrared rays from the reference heat sources 10, 11 of high temperature and ordinary temperature, into the infrared detector 3 according to a plurality of scanning lines are determined in an invalid scanning period excluding an effective scanning period, and a sensitivity correction factor is determined on the basis of the high temperature data and ordinary temperature data to perform sensitivity correcting processing of the detected output signals by detecting infrared rays from the target in the effective scanning period.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
