PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To materialize the concept that voice guidance easy to understand is made, including description of featured objects. ;SOLUTION: A navigation controller 14 acquires data about ID signs (featured objects) at specified guidance point from an information center 34 and stores them in an ID sign database 20 when a route is set. When the guidance point is approached during running the route, it conducts a voice guidance utilizing the ID sign, based on data stored in the ID sign data-base 20 wherein the timing of the voice guidance is at an adequate point own vehicle arrives against the ID sign position.
