PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the foreign-matter invasion preventive facility of a cooling- water intake in a power-plant, in which the retention of foreign matters in the periphery of a screen is prevented surely even when a large quantity of the foreign matters are generated, and as required quantity of water can be taken stably without closing the screen. SOLUTION: Screens 3 are installed to the intake 11a of a cooling-water head race 11 disposed so as to be projected to the sea 10 side for taking cooling water for cooling a condenser in a thermal power station or a nuclear power station from the sea 10. Crushers 4 are mounted to the intake 12a of a foreign- matter intake channel 12 adjacently arranged to the intake 11a through a partition wall 13.
