PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition excellent in resistance to SF6 gas, mechanical strength and resistance to cracking and which gives an insulating molded product of low dielectric constant by blending a powder of a silicate compound with an epoxy resin. ;SOLUTION: Three types of silicate compounds, i.e., independent silicate, cyclic silicate and linear silicate are especially useful. As the independent silicate, forsterite, fayalite, tephroite, knebelite or monticellite having a peridotite structure are used. Zircon is used since it is excellent in low thermal expansion, high electrical insulation properties and arc resistance. As the cyclic silicate, cordierite is preferably used. As the linear silicate, wollastonite belonging to the augite group is preferred. A powder of the silicate compound is preferably in a form of a fine particle having an average particle diameter of 100 μm or lower or a needle having an average fiber diameter of 100 μm or lower.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
