PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioning system having a crossflow heat exchang ing element which can be installed while saving the space and can air-condition a housing entirely and a composite unit therefor. SOLUTION: In the air conditioning system, circumferential fringe of a heat transfer sheet having corrugated cross-section is held by a frame to construct a heat exchanging element, a pair of partition members extend across the corrugation along the opposite sides of the heat transfer sheet, and a pair of wing paths are defined between the partition member and the heat transfer sheet in order to exchange heat. A thin heat exchanging element is obtained and clamped along with the pair of partition members by a pair of casings thus constituting a thin heat exchanging unit 2. The heat exchanging unit 2, a fan unit 3 and a humidity conditioning unit 4 are coupled into a composite unit 1 which is disposed on each floor in a building. The fan unit 3 is provided with a pair of fans 31, 32, an air inlet 13 facing indoors, a photocatalyst carrier 36, and a light source 3-7. This system eliminates the need of a through duct.
