PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a testing apparatus, for an ant nest-shaped corrosion, by which the propagation speed of the temperature change of a cooling and heating medium, to which the heat exchanger tube of a heat exchanger is subjected in the operation of an actual machine, can be reproduced faithfully and which can measure the time elapsed until a through hole is opened in a metal tube to be tested. ;SOLUTION: An ant nest-shaped corrosion environment exposure tank 1 whose inside is set at a gas-phase environment used to generate and grow an ant nest-shaped corrosion is provided. A thermostat 2 by which the temperature at the inside of the ant nest-shaped corrosion environment exposure tank 1 is kept at a prescribed temperature is provided. A cooling and heating medium passage 4 which is formed in such a way that a part of at least a side face is faced with the inside of the ant nest-shaped environment exposure tank 1 is provided. A cooling and heating source device 6 in which a temperature-controlled cooling and heating medium is circulated to the cooling and heating medium passage 4 is provided. A metal pipe 3, to be tested, which is installed as a part of the cooling and heating medium passage 4 and which has a face exposed inside the ant nest-shaped environment exposure tank 1 is provided. Then, the cooling and heating medium is made to flow to the inside of the metal pipe 3, to be tested, from the cooling and heating medium loop pipe 4. Thereby, a temperature change due to the propagation of the cooling and heating medium from the same inside as an actual machine can be given to the metal pipe 3 to be tested.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
