PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To comprehensively and quickly evaluate the dissolution rate of a powder desulfurization agent by pouring a solution of the powder desulfurization agent dissolved in a solvent to a reaction container, titrating a neutralization titration reagent to the solution until the pH of the resultant solution reaches a prescribed value while keeping the temperature of the solution constant, and evaluating the dissolution rate based on the injected amount of the reagent. ;SOLUTION: Pure water is poured in a reaction container 1I, the water is stirred by a stirring apparatus 3, and the temperature of the water is elevated to and kept at a prescribed temperature by a hot plate 2 and a temperature adjusting apparatus 9. In such a state, N2 gas 12 is introduced at a prescribed flow rate into the reaction container 1 through a flow rate adjusting valve 11 and, at the same time, a prescribed amount of a sample agent (MgO powder) 13 is added. After that, a pH controller 5 connected with pH electrodes 4 is started to operate and a neutralization titration reagent (a 2N-H2SO4 solution) is dropwise added by an Aubullet 6 to adjust the pH of the solution in the reaction container 1 to a prescribed value (6.0) and the alteration of the solution in the container with the lapse of time from the starting of the addition of the agent 13 and the integrated amount of the neutralization titration reagent are transmitted to a data processing apparatus 7 to evaluate the dissolution rate.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
