PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent inaccurate abnormal judgment of a sensor when varying speed of an input for a brake pedal is large. ;SOLUTION: A pressing stroke speed Spd and a varying speed Pmd of master cylinder pressure is calculated based on a pressing stroke Sp to a brake pedal and the master cylinder pressure Pm (S20, 40), when the value of the pressing stroke speed Spd and the value of the varying speed Pmd of the master cylinder pressure are respectively less than a standard value (S30, 50), whether a stroke sensor and a pressure sensor are normal or not is judged based on the judgment whether the pressing stroke Sp and the master cylinder pressure Pm are in a given relation (S60, 80), and when the value of the pressing stroke speed Spd and the value of the varying speed Pmd of the master cylinder pressure are respectively more than the standard value, the judgment whether or not the sensors are normal is not performed (S30, 50).;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
