PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an oxide-based refractory product excellent in resistance to erosion of molten slag by including an Al2O3-SiC-based mixture synthesized from an alumina-silica-based mineral into an oxide-based refractory material. ;SOLUTION: This oxide-based refractory product is obtained by adding 1-20 wt.% (1.0-10 wt.% expressed in terms of SiC amount) Al2O3-SiC-based mixture, synthesized by carbon heat-reduction method from a natural alumina-silica-based refractory mineral, being superfine powder, comprising uniform mixture of Al2O3 with SiC and preferably containing ≥30 wt.% Al2O3 to an oxide refractory material consisting mainly of electromelting alumina, sintered alumina, electromelting magnesia, sintered magnesia, electromelting spinel, sintered spinel, eletromelting mullite and sintered mullite. When the mixture of Al2O3 with SiC is brought into contact with liquid slag during use of the refractory product, Al2O3 is dissolved in the slag and simultaneously SiC is dissolved in the slag.
