RAISING OF SEEDLING OF RICE PLANT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the labor saving in fertilizer application even for silicic acid and prep. phosphoric acid and raise seedlings of rice plant with a bed soil or a soil cover excellent in water holding properties by applying a porous calcium silicate hydrate at a pH regulated within a specific range. SOLUTION: A porous calcium silicate hydrate at a pH regulated to 3.5-8.0 is applied and a part or all of a pH adjustor is preferably phosphoric acid. The porous calcium silicate hydrate is the one obtained by adding a foaming agent to a siliceous raw material and a calcareous raw material as main raw materials, precuring the resultant mixture and then carrying out hdrothermal synthesis. Specifically, xonotlite, tobermorite, gyrolite, hillebrandite, foshagite and the like are cited.
