PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify operation for preserving a file added to a received electronic mail in a folder inside an auxiliary storage device. ;SOLUTION: This device is provided with a means for easily preserving the received mail or file added to the received mail in the folder of the target auxiliary storage device while having a window (called 'explorer view') for handling the file in an electronic mail software itself, means for automatically expanding folders over multiple hierarchies even while dragging a target file (designating an object through a mouse cursor and shifting the object while pressing a left button) and means for automatically scrolling the inside of the view downward when the target file comes on the upper limit of the explorer view just during dragging or for automatically scrolling the inside of the view upward when the target file comes on the lower limit of the explorer view.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
