PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a longitudinal tear detecting device of a conveyor belt, capable of decreasing the generation of malfunction and capable of performing stable detection of longitudinal tear. ;SOLUTION: An antenna part 12 so arranged as to electromagentically connect a transmitting coil 12a and a sense coil 12b to each other is arranged near a conveyor belt. When a resonance circuit embedded in the conveyor belt passes near the antenna part, the electromagnetic connection of the transmitting coil 12a and the sense coil 19b is disturbed, and induction electromotive force V2 of the sense coil 12b is decreased. The passage of the resonance circuit is estimated from a timing signal from a conveyor belt device. When the induction electromotive force V2 is not decreased, it is detected that the conveyor belt is torn and a loop coil of the resonance circuit is cut. A mixed signal V4 obtained by mixing the induction electromotive force V2 and a balance signal V3 and decreasing the normal signal level is formed and so set that the level of the mixed signal V4 may be suddenly increased in the passage of the resonance circuit, and the passage of the resonance circuit is detected.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
