EXTRACTION OF ALCOHOL COMPONENT OF TALL OIL CONTAINED IN TALL OIL PITCH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently extracting an alcohol component of a tall oil from an alkali hydrolyzate of a tall oil pitch by which the recovery and separation of an extracting solvent are readily carried out. ;SOLUTION: At least any one kind of solvent selected from hydrocarbon- based solvents, ketonic solvents, ethereal solvents and ester-based solvents is brought into contact with a solid substance of an alkali hydrolyzate of a tall oil pitch to extract an alcohol component of the tall oil contained in the tall oil pitch from the solid substance. In this case, the moisture content in the solid substance of the alkali hydrolyzate of the tall oil pitch is ≤6 wt.%.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
