PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable continuous and speedy measurement of both a refractive power and a radius of curvature by a single apparatus, by constituting the apparatus with the use of a first light source for measuring the refractive power of an optical system and a second light source for measuring the radius of curvature of a surface of the optical system. SOLUTION: An apparatus for measuring a refractive power of an optical system such as eyes, etc., is constituted of a refractive power-measuring optical system having a first light source 12 and a radius of curvature-measuring optical system having, e.g., six second light sources 56. Both optical systems are partly shared in the measuring apparatus. A light from the first light source 12 is intermittently projected by a rotating plate 18 having a predetermined through hole to an eye 10 to be measured, reflected at an eye ground, and shed on a first photodetecting member 38. A refractive power is obtained from an output of the first photodetecting member. Lights from six reflecting light points 60 on a cornea 58 of the eye 10 which are formed by lights from the second light sources 56 are intermittently interrupted by the plate 18 and projected to a second photodetecting member 68. A radius of curvature of the cornea 58 is thus obtained. Measurements of the refractive power and the radius of curvature of the cornea can be automatically switched, for instance, by a rotational angle of the plate 18.
