PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize unburned components left in combustion ash of pulverized coal and carbon monoxide at an outlet of a furnace while improving the balance of a heat load on the wall surface of the furnace. ;SOLUTION: In a combustion method of this combustion burner 2, a pulverized coal nozzle 10 is provided to inject a mixed fluid of pulverized coal and air and an air nozzle 11 to inject air. In this case, it is so arranged that a flame formed by this pulverized coal combustion burner 2 expands in combustion more than doubling the diameter of a burner throat of the pulverized coal combustion burner at a distance within the double of the diameter of the burner throat thereof.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
