PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily generate a curved face in a short time, based on the features of the boundary lines only by designating the boundary lines by interpolating a plane or the curved face through the use of the normal vector of the respective passing points of a fine area divided by a passing point net and generating the curved face in the area surrounded by the boundary lines. ;SOLUTION: An area in which a curved face is formed is surrounded by a plurality of boundary lines. The respective boundary lines showing the boundary of the curved face previously are defined in a phase relation of which faces are positioned on the right/left of the boundary lines, to which boundary lines the end parts are connected and so on. A modeling part generates the curved face in a user area. It is discriminated whether the area in which the curved face is generated is in a square form constituted of four boundary lines or not, for example (S10). When the boundary lines are discriminated to be not four, a passing point net generation processing by a degeneracy method is executed (S12). When the area in which the curved face is generated is constituted of four boundary lines, the passing point net generation processing by an opposite side blend method is executed (S14).;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
