PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a decoration image easily at the lateral rib part by disposing a thermal transfer roller oppositely to the lateral rib on a front panel, interposing a transfer sheet applied with a decoration image to be printed between the thermal transfer roller and the front panel and then rolling the thermal transfer roller along the front panel. SOLUTION: When a decoration image is printed to a front panel 2 being fixed to cover the substantially entire front surface of the body of an air conditioner (indoor unit), a transfer sheet 25 having lower surface previously applied with a desired decoration image (pattern) is fed from a feed roll 25a onto the front panel 2, and then a thermal transfer roller 26 is rolled on the transfer sheet 25 while being pressed downward. In this regard, the flange part 26a of the thermal transfer roller 26 is fitted in a slit on the outermost side of the front panel 2 and moved along a lateral rib 5. The decoration image can be transferred accurately only to the lateral rib 5 part by substantially equalizing the length L1 of the thermal transfer roller 26 and the width L3 of the transfer sheet 25 to the range of the lateral rib 5.
