PHASE SHIFTER, PHASE SHIFTER ARRAY AND PHASED ARRAY ANTENNA SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phase shifter, a phase shifter array, and a phased array antenna system which can attain low power consumption, compact size and high density packaging without using expensive parts. ;SOLUTION: An electrically insulating substrate 16 is oppositely arranged on the upper part of a plane electrode 11 and a strip line 15 is formed on the inside of the substrate 16 so as to be opposed to the electrode 11. Sealing members 13 are formed along both the sides of the line 15 and filled with a liquid crystal member 12 of which dielectric constant is changed in accordance with impressed voltage. A lead wire 18 connected to a through hole 17 of the substrate 16 is connected to a DC power supply 19 of which output voltage is variable through a coil 20 and DC voltage against ground potential is supplied from the power supply 19 to the line 15.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
