PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevating top plate-equipped study desk such that the effective depth of an elevating top plate can be reduced by moving downward and backward the elevating top plate at the front of a top plate so that the user, while sitting, can reach an upper rack provided at the rear of the top plate, and that a modesty panel can be formed at the rear of the top plate when the elevating top plate is moved backward. ;SOLUTION: One or plural top plate forming members 5 are flexibly joined together at the rear edge of an elevating top plate 4 to form a top plate 3, and the elevating top plate is supported against leg plates 2, 2 in such a way as to be capable at least of backward falling movement and forward rising movement, with the elevating top plate 4 and the members 5 aligned flush with one another to form the top plate 3 of a great depth. When the elevating top plate 4 has moved backward, the members 5 are aligned vertically at the rear between the leg plates 2, 2, forming the top plate 3 of a great depth.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
