PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modulation signal generating device for making an original optical disk which can generate a modulation signal by using only one master optical disk when a modulation signal required for making an original optical disk is generated. ;SOLUTION: This device is provided with an information reproducing means 31 reproducing a modulation signal including main data MD and sub-code R-W generation information 60 from a whole information region of an optical disk 27 of one master in which a modulation signal including main data and K sub-code R-W generation information 60 is recorded, a read-out means 22 taking out a sub-code R-W generation information 60 from a modulation signal including reproduced main data and sub-code R-W generation information 60 by an information reproducing means 21, and an operation means 24 generating sub-code R-W information 80 based on read out sub-code R-W generation information 60.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
