PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit the detection of drilling angle automatically and continuously until reaching a predetermined drilling position by providing drilling angle detection means for detecting the angle of bore hole made in the ground by connecting it to a drilling rod for drilling to the ground in parallel to the drilling direction. ;SOLUTION: An angle sensor 33 provided in a rotary encoder 31 has a liquid level detector for detecting the liquid surface sealed in a liquid container, and detects and outputs the angle of slope of the liquid container by the relative relation with the liquid surface of the liquid container. Moreover, the horizontal direction of the liquid container of the angle sensor 33 is parallel to the longitudinal direction of the guide cell 21, and the angle of slope of the guide cell 21 can be obtained by analyzing an output signal from the angle sensor 33. CPU analyzes data signals from the angle sensor 33, calculates the angle of slope of the guide cell 21, converts it to the angle of the bore hole, and calculates the difference from the planned value of the angle of bore hole. During the drilling, if the deviation of the angle of bore hole resulted has exceeded the controlled limit value, then an alarm is generated and the drilling angle is corrected.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
