METHOD FOR OPERATING ESCALATOR PROVIDED WITH WHEELCHAIR FOOTSTEP AND ESCALATOR PROVIDED WITH WHEELCHAIR FOOTSTEP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an escalator provided with a wheelchair footstep, capable of being constituted of a main frame having the lengths corresponding to the horizontal moving sections of respective footsteps near getting on/off ports in a normal escalator. ;SOLUTION: A connecting arm 17 to be displaced to the lower end 2 side of a main frame 1 is provided on a first wheelchair footstep 15, and a rising running board 19 to be raised, displaced and supported by the connecting arm 17, and a wheel stop piece 20 to be projected and displaced are provided on a second wheelchair footstep 18. A wheelchair loading surface 23 is formed in an inclination gradually increased movable section or an inclination gradually decreased movable section of the footsteps in a state where one of the first wheelchair footstep 15 and the second wheelchair footstep 18 is moved and stopped. A getting-on table to be raised, displaced and arranged on the rising running board 19 side is provided on a getting on/off port 4 on the lower side 2 of the main frame 1. Therefore, getting on/off of the wheelchair 22 can be performed by the standard horizontal moving section of the end of the main frame 1, and an escalator provided with a wheelchair footstep can be installed without extending the main frame 1.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
