PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject agent useful for preventing and treating the crisis of hepatic diseases and inflammatory diseases caused by the lowering of the production of the interleukin 10 by compounding a specific organic germanium compound as a main component. ;SOLUTION: This agent contains a 3-oxygermyl propionic acid eight- membered structure expressed by the three-dimensional structural formula {R is CH₂CH₂COOH; (m) is 137±84 [average value ± standard error (3σ)] which is a weight-average polymerization degree converted from the weight-average mol.wt. of propagermanium propyl ester}, the minimum structural units: (O_1/2)₃ GeCH₂CH₂COOH and the experimental formula: C₆H₁₀Ge₂O₇ as a main component. The interleukin 10 production-increasing medicine preferably comprises an action-activated composition prepared so as to contain the 3- oxygermylpropionic acid eight-membered structure in an amount of 0.005-5 wt.% and a carrier in an amount of 0.005-50 wt.%, respectively.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
