PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an ostomy filter. ;SOLUTION: This ostomy filter has a filter housing 24 having a cylindrical hole internally housed with a cylindrical filter element 36. The filter element 36 has a length in an axial direction larger than the radius thereof and is adapted to slip longitudinally into the hole. A user is able to select the filter element having an adequate flow velocity characteristic meeting his own need at the time of use. The filter may be a separated filter mounted at the wall of the bag or may be built into an artificial anus spacing coupling member 16 for the bag. The fresh filter is inserted through the outside end 30 of the hole, by which the previous filter element is replaced and extruded through the inner end of the hole and the filter element 36 is exchanged.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
