ROOF STRUCTURE OF WOODEN BUILDING AND SUBSTRATE MEMBER FOR ROOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sufficient driven-depth of nails on the whole roof face and firmly fix roof finishing materials by using substrate building members fixed on purlins, a ridge beam, and pole plates at right angles, as the substrate members of roof finishing materials. ;SOLUTION: Vertical roof struts 3, 3 are erected on girders 2, 2 and purlins 4, 4 and a ridge beam 41 are horizontally laid at the top thereof and fixed thereon. Then, substrate building members 1, 1 are fixed on the purlins 4, the ridge beam 41, and pole plates 21 at right angles. And roof finishing materials such as roof tiles are laid thereon. The substrate building members 1 is made of Japanese cedar dried up to 15-20% water content and is preferably as thick as 20-40 mm. In this way, a sufficient driven-depth of nails can be obtained on the whole roof face and hence the roof finishing materials can be firmly fixed. And further, rainwater which has penetrated into the underside of the roof finishing materials can be completely drained without flowing to the garret.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
