PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the amount of calculations needed for conversion between color spaces by making a choice between a 1st value set for determining the use of a 1st function and a 2nd value set for determining the use of a 2nd and of a 3rd function according to a control input and supplying the 1st set control input. ;SOLUTION: A single bit is used to control data choices at the input parts of multiplexers 2501a to 2501n. The single bit controls for which a tetrahedral interpolation with asymmetrical pruning or a radial interpolation asymmetrical pruning control inputs to multiplexers 2502a to 2502n are intended. The multiplexers 2501a to 2501n each makes a choice between one of 1st value sets for determining the use of a 1st function and one of 2nd value sets for determining the use of a 2nd and a 3rd functions according to one control input of a 2nd control input set so as to supply 1st set control inputs to the multiplexers 2502a to 2502n.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
