STATE MONITOR AND MONITORING METHOD FOR TURBINE GENERATOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect abnormality early in the beginning stage by updating the dynamic characteristic model of a turbine generator based on measurements obtained during operation and determining the future prediction value indicative of the state amount of the turbine generator from a newest model. ;SOLUTION: A state monitor comprises a data acquisition unit 2 for acquiring measurements of the bearing temperature, rotational speed, the oil temperature, the cooling water temperature and the ambient temperature of a turbine generator, and a section 4 for estimating operational coefficients using a dynamic characteristic model and respective measurements. The dynamic characteristic model is determined when the operational coefficients are determined and when the rotational speed of the turbine generator is provided as boundary conditions, state change can be predicted for the future operation based on a newest dynamic characteristic model. Consequently, prediction results can be obtained for the future state of the state amount related to the bearing, e.g. the bearing temperature, and abnormality can be detected early using the results before the state amount of the plant reaches a limit value.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
