PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce the subject feed having excellent shape retention, excellent shape retainability in water, excellent precipitation resistance in water and so on by charging two kinds of carboxymethylcellulose sodium salts and a polyoxyethylenesorbitan fatty acid ester in a specific ratio and in specified amounts, respectively, based on the powder of feed raw materials into an extruder. SOLUTION: This method for producing an expanded pellet feed for culturing fishes comprises charging the powder of feed raw materials, oils and fats, and water into an extruder, heating and kneading the charged mixture, extruding the kneaded product and subsequently drying the obtained pellets. Therein, (A) the first carboxymethylcellulose sodium salt having a specific viscosity and a specific etherification degree, (B) the second carboxymethylcellulose sodium salt having a specified viscosity, a specified water-absorbing property and a specified etherification degree, and (C) a polyoxyethylenesorbitan fatty acid ester are charged into the extruder in a specific ratio so that the total amount of the components is 0.1-10 wt.% based on the powder of feed raw materials.
