PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject material that cant solve the problems on environmental destruction and shows excellent erosion protection effect, water retention and strength by making fibers of biodegradable polymer in a mat or block form. SOLUTION: Fibers made of a biodegradable polymer material are formed in mats or blocks thereby giving the objective culture material. The fibers of biodegradable polymer material can be an aliphatic polyester, polysaccharide or polyvinyl alcohol. Additionally two or more different kinds of biodegradable polymer materials may be used as the fiber material. In other cases, natural fibers as kenaf, cotton, jute, coconut, bark fibers can be combined with this polymer material. Finally, this biodegradable polymer material may be combined with straw, pasture or chip fibers of tree and a natural material as sphagnum moss.
