PURPOSE:To attach a plurality of strain gauges having coefficients of linear expansion corresponding to the directions in which the coefficient of linear expansion of an anisotropic object to be measured is different correctly and efficiently in one bonding operation to the object. CONSTITUTION:On a sheet of gauge base 1, a first, a second and a third strain gauges 2, 3 and 4 having different coefficients of linear expansion are formed with an angle of 45 deg. between them. A multiaxial strain gauge which is fit for the coefficient of linear expansion of a composite material is selected. Index lines 10-12 are agreed with a scriber line drawn on the surface of the composite material, and bonded with the use of an adhesive.
