PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new compound suitable for a ligand of metal complex by including a donor center which has different structure from a cyclopentadiene structure. ;SOLUTION: The compound is expressed by formula I [E is an eliminable group X, -N(R), -P(R) (R), OR (R is H, an 1-20C organic group containing carbonyl group, a 1-30C organosilicon group), etc.; R1 to R6 are each R; Z is a cyclopentadienyl, or substituted cyclopentadienyl structural unit; T is R, E-Y- (Y is a 1-20C organic group bonding E to C1)], for example, 1.1-bis(diphenylphosphinomethyl)-1-cyclopentadineylmethyl-ethane. The compound of formula I is obtained from oxetane derivatives of formula II by carrying out the reaction with equivalent one cyclopentadienide anion, etc., capable of being substituted with X to form a cyclopentadienyl-substituted oxetane derivative, ring opening of the cyclopentadienyl-substituted oxetane derivative by the acid H-X, conversion of the formed -OH group to the eliminable group X, substitution of the eliminable group X by E.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
